Using the Offline Digital Edition
Q:
How do I download my offline version?
A:
If the download option is available for your publication you will
see the "Download" button on the navigation bar. After you click this button, you will be presented
with a dialog box that offers several choices. For the Windows PC you can download either an executable
(.exe) file, a ZIP (.zip) file. For the Macintosh OS 10.1 or later you can download a DMG file which automatically
expands and runs in Safari (or your preferred browser).
In some cases, a PDF file may be offered in addition to
the other download options.

Q:
I'm using Windows. How does the offline program work?
A:
The offline is a "self contained" executable version of the digital edition and actually
runs using your browser! Most digital edition features, including navigation, viewing page thumbnail, searching, and multiple
"zoom" factors, are supported. ("Print" and "Archive" is not supported.) When you run the
offline program, your browser of choice will open with the issue. The executable does not require
an "installation", in other words, your operating system (e.g., registry) will not be changed in any way.

Q:
What does the "Open in full screen mode" do?
A:
This option (available only on the PC) opens your Internet Explorer browser
in kiosk mode. This mode "takes over" the entire screen, so that all the window boxes, navigation, etc., are removed and
you only see your digital magazine. It's a great way to read your magazine, and you can always return to the "normal" computer
by closing the offline version.

Q:
I can't download an EXE file through my corporate firewall. What do I do?
A:
Choose the "ZIP" option. This will download a single compressed file, known
as a "ZIP" file, that contains the executable program. On most Windows computers, you can just "double
click" on the ZIP to open it, either to extract the downloaded issue program to your machine, or run
it directly from the ZIP.

Q:
Whenever I run the offline file, I get a message that says
"Open File - Security Warning" with a message saying "Do you want to run this file?"
A:
This message box will pop up when you use Internet Explorer to download
the offline file. To avoid it occurring again, simply uncheck the box next to "Always ask before opening this file".
NOTE: All Texterity offline files are digitally signed for your protection. This can be verified by clicking on the
"Publisher: Texterity, Inc" link in the message box. Under Digital Signature Information you'll see
"This digital signature is OK" displayed.
